Jan Stinson

Jan Stinson

We are at once delighted and disheartened to announce that Jan Stinson, one of TNR’s founding members is retiring. Jan has been a tremendous part of TNR since the very beginning in 2003. Her last day will be on August 27th.

Jan grew up and completed her education in Britain. When she completed her Tool and Die apprenticeship, Jan was one of very few women accepted into an engineering program. In 1975, she left the English countryside and headed for Canada.

Her working career began as a mechanical draughtsman and after an opportunity to work in purchasing, she headed back to school to learn what supply chain was all about. Throughout her purchasing career, the opportunity presented itself to work closely with people and broaden her knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Throughout the years, she has had the pleasure to work in many manufacturing environments, however the entrepreneurial opportunity of the TNR start-up was a rare opportunity she could not pass up. Jan started working on the start-up of TNR prior to TNR even having a facility; she would place orders from her kitchen table, later to join the team full time as the supply chain manager in June 2007. Looking back, Jan reflects, “To be involved in the initial start-up of such a great family orientated company has to be one of the most rewarding undertakings. Combined with the opportunity to work with so many dedicated colleagues which has resulted in the TNR we see today. To have successfully established the solid vendor relationships necessary to build a robust supply chain that has contributed to TNR’s success, is very satisfying”.

Jan plans to spend her retirement expanding her love for photography, hiking with her dog and relaxing on the water in her kayak.

A message she would like to leave with us is, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. Working with the TNR team has been a tremendous pleasure and I will miss it more than I can say.”

Jan’s retirement is our loss, but so well-deserved. We all wish her the very best as she heads into her new chapter.
