Human Resources Manager

Here we GROW again and with growth, comes new opportunity! TNR Doors is now looking to add a Human Resources Manager to its team. In this newly created position that will support both divisions (TNR Industrial Doors and Northwest Door Canada), you will maintain and enhance our human resources offerings by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and our human resources policies, programs and practices. About You

  • Excellent skills in communication, facilitation, negotiation, administration, and effective listening
  • Familiar/knowledgeable of manufacturing business functions including logistics, operations and quality assurance
  • Strong computer skills
  • Solid performance management knowledge
  • Demonstrated empathetic nature
  • Knowledge of HR laws and regulations to ensure both divisions remain compliant with regulations

Your Education/Membership

  • CHRP or higher certifications in Human Resources

Your Experience

  • 3+ years of experience managing HR for an organization
  • 3+ years of experience working with ADP
  • Proven experience in conflict resolution and problem-solving within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP would be a great asset as would prior experience in benefits administration

What are your responsibilities?

In addition to managing all HR activities for both divisions and holding budgetary responsibilities for same, you will:

  • Hold overall responsibility for developing, implementing and communicating policies and procedures consistent with the values and principles of the company as well as workplace legislation.
  • Interpret, create and apply policies, procedures according to legislative changes for all HR matters.
  • Provide assistance, as needed, to all employees regarding personal or job-related problems.
  • Research and examine emerging trends and workplace legislation and their impact on the workplace.
  • Act as a liaison between management and employees concerning work or behavioral or disciplinary issues.
  • Have full responsibility over Employee Handbook.
  • Conduct and hold responsibility over all disciplinary actions and report to payroll for bonus administration.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze cumulative results and report concerns to President.
  • Ensure ADP is being utilized effectively and as necessary, update records.
  • Develop and implement compensation plan.
  • Ensure performance management process is followed including keeping JIGs current.
  • Manage workplace injuries and the early and safe return to work program.
  • Lead the People Relations CI team and update KPIs on monthly basis.
  • On monthly basis, enter monthly absenteeism data into SAP.
  • Hold overall accountability and responsibility for all recruitment activities.
  • Maintain historical HR records keeping past and current records.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, participating in EMC seminars/events; reviewing professional publications; and participating in professional societies (HRPA).
  • Live the Core Values (Integrity, Humility and Accountability) and demonstrate teamwork.
  • Work with senior management to bring improvements to our culture and maintain/improve the GPTW (Great Places To Work) status.

Control Panel Tester

Are you an Electrical Engineering Technician looking to work for a world-renown local manufacturer? Or maybe you’re a recent graduate with an electrical or electronic diploma wanting to join a growing company. If this describes you and if you’re willing to learn, are organized, team-oriented, disciplined and have a positive attitude, then your search could be over as our need to find the ideal CONTROL PANEL TESTER could be the job you’ve been looking for! 

In this role, you will prepare, fit and adjust control panel units to meet operating requirements of products, using hand and simple power tools. You will also execute point-to-point wiring checks, and read and understand schematics. You may assist engineering with product development by testing and monitoring new electrical products and you may be required to carry out preparation work for customized products and/or perform electrical equipment testing. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and understand drawings, wiring schematics, and work orders and review Bill of Materials (BOMs) for wiring/layout control panels and any other components.
  • Lay out, wire and assemble panel to finish, installing all necessary options as detailed, using hand and power tools.
  • Terminate wires followed by point-to-point testing.
  • Conduct final test procedures on finished product and document results.
  • Adhere to current electrical legislation.
  • Perform daily operator maintenance checks on equipment and report concerns.
  • Inform Unit Leader/Team Leader of all stock shortages, quality and downtime issues.
  • Identify and document improvement opportunities using established processes.
  • Perform documented quality assurance inspections.
  • Implement and maintain 5S housekeeping principles at all times.
  • Work with engineering in the preparaion of estimates, schedules, budget specifications and reports.
  • Follow through Design Verification process and collect data as described by the engineering team. This may require analysis of data collection and recognizing trends.
  • Perform equipment maintenance tasks and troubleshoot equipement electrical issues.
  • Follow company policies and procedures as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Formal electrical training (i.e. Electrical Engineering Technician diploma)
  • Prior experience in a production environment (fast paced manufacturing environment preferred)
  • Panel fabrication experience in a similar industry preferred
  • Manufacturing maintenance experience would be an asset

Hours of work – 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7:30 am to 4:00 pm)

Supply Chain Coordinator

We are looking for someone who can ensure the smooth functioning of all aspects related to material procurement and processing. You will work with our buyers to maintain and control inventory levels and will control and monitor supplier delivery performance and report findings to the manager.

In this role you will:

  • Purchase office supplies and assist other buyers as needed with Kanban items.
  • Work with our EAP system to create vendor reporting and tracking of open orders/backorders.
  • Monitor procurement delivery performance, and expediting orders where necessary.
  • Keep database current on purchases, materials, suppliers, and costing.
  • Report problematic supplier/vendor issues to manager to discuss alternatives.
  • Coordinate with Finance department on solving invoice discrepancies/receiving errors.
  • Manage/monitor/maintain stock levels whilst also performing and recording cycle counts and inventory adjustments accordingly.
  • Process stock requisitions including updating the ERP, tracking all requisitions, etc
  • In conjunction with the buyers, initiate re-order of inventory as required.
  • Provide assistance to buyers when necessary.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement teams and activities.
  • Ensure adherence to internal quality and ISO procedures.
  • Adhere to and enforce compliance with purchasing policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
  • Comply with health and safety rules and regulations and follow company policies.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required by management.
