Cathy is President and CEO of TNR Industrial Doors, a manufacturer of high performance, high speed, rubber and fabric roll-up doors for the industrial and commercial marketplace. The company was established in 2003.
Prior to TNR, from 1997 to 2003, Cathy consulted for Georgian College, and her own company in the areas of marketing, sales, management and leadership Customers included Magna International, Coke, Bell Canada, City of Barrie, City of Hamilton, and CFN Precision.
From 1995 to 1997 Cathy served as Director of Sales, M & I Doors. She coached the 17 regional sales people, and guided the growth of sales into the United States, and assisted with the development of the Dealer School. M & I was sold in 1997.
During the period 1993 to 1995, Cathy worked to develop her own consulting and training business. She worked with Georgian College, and local companies including Barrie Hydro and M & I Doors.
From 1979 to 1993 Cathy was employed by Bell Canada, and Bell Canada International. She began as Manager in the Accounting Department (BCI), and then moved into Human Resources and next to the International Training Center. During her time at BCI, she was part of a team dedicated to training management at telecommunications companies worldwide. After the birth of her first child, she moved into sales at Bell Canada where as a sales manager she specialized in direct marketing and training.
Cathy received her honours degree from the University of Western Ontario, London in 1979. She continues her education via various education routes including university level courses and business level training courses. She is accredited to deliver 32 Zenger Miller/Achieve International courses (front line leadership/change management courses).
Cathy’s volunteer leader experience is extensive including: Treasurer for the International Door Association 2008, IDA Board Member 2005-2008, Campaign Chair, United Way of Greater Simcoe County (2002-06), Board Member for the MacLaren Art Center (2000-03), Campaign Board Member Simcoe County United Way, Board Member for Circle at the Center (1996-1997), SAOP Committee Member (Economic Development Committee) – City of Barrie (1996-1998), Board Member and then President of Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club (1994-1997), Board Member, Ladies Curling Section Scarboro Golf and Country Club (1984-1988), and Director, University of Western Ontario Student Council (1978-79).
She enjoys skiing, swimming, scuba diving, and traveling with her family. She can also be found at local hockey arenas cheering on the teams, and walking her Native American Indian dog. Cathy is married to Denis Galbraith, a Senior Vice President with Wellington West Financial. They have two children.
Some of her personal achievements include: Raised $5 million for the United Way, member of the University of Western Ontario Swim Team, Winner of Lions Club Student Citizen of the Year. TNR Industrial Doors won the Barrie Chamber of Commerce ‘New Business’ Award in November 2005, elected to the Board of the International Door Association in 2005 and elected as Treasurer in 2007.
